Today, I want to introduce you to a new tool in your arsenal … the affiliate mashup store.
But what is a mashup? Well …. it takes affiliate opportunities from different avenues and blends them with RSS feeds and other content into a coherent, but potentially self-managing website.
See an example at the Christmas Store.
The script used to generate that website incorporates the following elements :
- Affiliate Future Product Search
- Ebay Product Search
- Adsense Panels (300×250 & 120×600)
- Adsense for Youtube
- Adsense for search
- Additional content
- Generates additional URLs on the fly from visitor searches.
It may surprise you that this script is actually available for free at http://blog.hugepedlar.com/free-ebay-youtube-adsense-mashup-script/ after giving your email address up. Why not give it a whirl yourself.
The downside? Well.. there is no admin or theme control ready built in, although you should be able to give it a make over through some new CSS styling, but you do get to plug in your own affiliate IDs.
Today is my first experience of the tool, but at first site it should have reasonable conversion opportunity.
There is also a paid for version available, that somewhat surprisingly uses the Commission Junction api instead and also offers some additional CMS and niche store capability through product catalogue pull-down to your own database.
I confess confusion about whether there is a single paid for version or whether there are two? I have seen two different prices.
- $27 – at http://mashups.hugepedlar.com/ebay-cj-youtube/
- $199 – at http://affiliatemashupstore.com/
Now go figure which price I prefer … the products look the same, the site owners appear to be the same, but considering the price differences, I don’t know.
I am not buying two products to trial for the site … maybe if HugePedlar would like to clarify or provide a copy (of each?) for review purposes, then I will look at the pay scripts.
