Affilistore update available
Not to be confused with Affilistore Enhanced which will be made available on this blog imminently, Steve Balfour has released an upgraded version of the ‘official’ Affilistore.
There hasn’t been any announcement that I have seen, but visiting the site today I see that version 2.1 is now available for download as a complete installation.
On a quick perusal of the code files, I can see that it now provides for retaining user history (recently viewed products), but nothing else stands out. Knowing Steve, he will have included a few more bells & whistles at the same time, but we will need to wait for an official announcement.
As per v2.01, the installation does not appear to have any listed upgrade path. From a cursory look at the install script, I do not see any table changes that stand out and this may well be a drop-in upgrade.
If you have tried the new Affilistore v2.1, why not comment? Did you do a clean install or did you upgrade? Were there any issues along the way.
Do remember that Affilistore Enhanced is due out in the next day which has additional feature sets. You may want to try out in a localhost environment to decide which works best for you. In either regard, Steve Balfour’s license conditions are observed fully whether you use his version or the Affilistore Enhanced version, recognising that the heart of Affilistore Enhanced relies upon Steve’s original Affilistore script. In fact, should you wish to remove the license footer links from Affilistore Enhanced, you will still require to purchase the official Affilistore patch.
