How to be front page in Google.

by David Cameron on November 26, 2008

OK, so you want to get on the front page of Google for your selected niche keywords. In order to do that, you will need to displace someone else.

But how many backlinks do you need? and are there alternative keywords that you could use and get better results?

Today that research can take you hours tediously ploughing through a list of words and Yahoo and Google keyword tools. But a new tool changes all that!

The problem today is that it’s incredibly time consuming and tedious to manually check every single result for the number of links it has aimed at it. On top of that, having to manually check the anchor text of those links to see what keywords point back at the competitor domain can take hours!

WebComp Analyst is a tool just published over the last few days by the famous Jonathan Leger, one of the most respected Internet Marketers on the planet.

I bought it at launch and have been having a play with it across the last few days before writing this post. My conclusion is that WebComp Analyst is a great addition to an Affiliate Marketers arsenal, helping you to find new niche markets with the right keywords and ideal number of backlinks to target.

I really can’t do WebComp Analyst justice here, but Jonathan Leger has posted a demo video here showing the tool in action. That video demonstration hooked me to buy as soon as it became available.

What can WebComp Analyst do for you?

  • Fast, easy link analysis of the top 10, 20 or 30 results in Google.
  • Analyze multiple sets of keywords at the same time.
  • Shows the links to the ranking page and home page (important for estimating Google authority).
  • Tells you what anchor texts are being used in the links to each page.
  • Niche keywords suggestion tool shows a list of popular niche subjects to explore.
  • Keyword suggestion tool provides additional keyword ideas from WordTracker and Ask.com.

  • Export/Import using plain-text comma-separated values (CSV) compatible with most spreadsheet programs.

If you don’t believe me, try WebComp Analyst out for yourself for 30 days risk free with a full money back guarantee. I am only a few days in and I wouldn’t give it up if you paid me double.

And … just in case you think this is marketing spin and I am selling you a product that I have never laid my hands on, here is a picture of my desktop using WebCEO and WebComp Analyst to tune my campaigns.

Hi Paul,

I have an easy answer for you.

Buy WebComp Analyst and to start with use the free version of WebCEO until you decide whether you want the extended capabilities of WebCEO.

WebComp Analyst is an extremely fast way to see how the competition rates for backlinks both on the deeplink and on the HomePage, and crucially what the anchor text (and numbers of times used) of those links ARE … something that I haven’t seen WebCEO able to do … but crucial if you want to know what you are competing with. WebComp has been updated several times over the last few days in response to feature requests (and some early bug fixes) and you can even isolate your niche keywords to a particular country (Google/Yahoo country search)

WebCEO is another tool that I would not want to do without, but it covers a broad spectrum of SEO activity, from performing search engine submission to providing advice on on-page optimisation to competition analysis (where do we all rank for the same keywords) across all the major search engines. The WebCEO free version has some limitations (5 Keyword combinations in any single search, but you can create & store multiple criteria)

I hope that has made it an easy choice for you. If you can only afford one … then it has to be WebComp Analyst, but DO pick up a free copy of WebCEO. One you have that, if you decide that you do want to upgrade to a full version (you may not as the tool is pretty darned good if you respect and work with the free copy constraints), don’t shell out for full priced WebCEO until you get a notice of a special offer (they come round every three months or so and typically knock ~40% off).

Hope that has helped.

Cheers for the advice.

Just gone through the Video for WebComp and it seems relatively easy to use to get some interestings stats to work with straight away.

I have the free version of WebCEO already, but found it TOO feature rich to get anything useful to use as “quick wins” in SEO.

Oooo, that WebComp Analst link looks very clickable.. I wonder what will happen if I click on it and buy :-)

Bit of a side note…. but I had an interview about one of my sites put in the Affiliate Window e-newsletter to merchants. I gave your site a mention as a top resource site for Affiliates.

Pat yourself on the back :-)

I know what you mean about WebCEO … it is useful, but maybe you can’t use everything or even be overwhelmed. Personally, I use two areas on a regular basis … search engine submission and keyword competitor ranking basic info for existing sites.

Whereas with WebComp Analyst it performs a very tightly defined role that it is pretty easy to get your head around .. and lets you know whether certain keywords are worth targetting for position.

I guess you know what happens if you click and buy .. but I only rub my hands if after 30 days you wre satisfied enough not to get a refund … I am confident that you will be happy. As you see here, I don’t promote things that I have not tried out myself and been very happy to recommend.

WebComp Analyst (oops, there’s another link) is one of those few products that I commend … and if you don’t think so, then come back and report it after collecting your refund inside the 30 days.

Thanks for the commendation in the newsletter. I don’t see any current newletters on AWin’s website … don’t suppose you have a copy or a link to view?

I am wondered to see power of this tool which even I haven’t heard about ever. I have been using “Advanced web ranking” since an year from Cyphon and thought there can be nothing better than that. I am wondering why I didn’t know about webcomp analyst. Anyways I am going to purchase it right away and if you have some referral system to get you a benefit then let me know the link.

Hi there.

The tool is fairly new, but it is extremely fast in finding backlinks to your competitors (uses Yahoo Site Explorer as Google never displays all links) and analysing the anchor text on them.

Just follow the links I include if you want me to benefit from referral.
