Qinetix APM – Brief Update

by David Cameron on September 24, 2009

First of all, I want to apologise for the radio silence on Qinetix APM, the long awaited next and re-branded version of Affilistore Enhanced.

Delivery of Qinetix isn’t really within my control and all of us are dependent upon the fabulous work done by Stephen at Anyname to develop the initial fork from the official Affilistore product and to produce the incremental versions … and naturally non-commercial activity takes a bit of a back seat or at least a lower priority to developing products that pay the bills. That’s what has happened with Qinetix APM lately.

From recent conversations, it appears that the Qinetix pace will be picked up again and new product could be available soon … more to follow on that.

I don’t want to steal Stephen’s thunder, but watch out for some exciting news about “syndicating” content to other website in your portfolio using Qinetix.

If you don’t already read the Anyname Blog, then I suggest that you sign up to an RSS subscription. As well as being a good and insightful (if sometimes technical and over my head ;o) ) read, I would expect Stephen to be posting an update on Qinetix and giving clarity as to the product shape and timelines in the very near future.

Do you know what has happened to Affilistore.com?
The domain seems for sale now!

Apparently he has decided that the best way forward for him is to devlop tools exclusively for his own use.

I admit that this came as a surprise to me too as there was no notice .. shame really, as the forum was absolutely full of rich pickings of tips and tricks.

So after purchasing licensing and working to build a business this is all nothing but a bunch of bullshiit!!! No security updates, no support no nothing for our money. Glad to know we can trust our fellow online marketers and developers, way to go, keep up the great work and fu very much also…

@lostandconfused

I understand your frustration … to a degree. But I am not sure who you are venting at ? Affilistore who took your money and have now disappeared from sight or are you angry with us because we haven’t produced a new version of ASE.

To be clear, we didn’t take any money from you for Affilistore Enhanced … not a penny .. NADA. If you chose to purchase the Remove Footer Links, then OK you did pay, but we didn’t get a red cent. You paid Affilistore.com and we got nothing from that. We haven’t taken any money and run off with it. Now if you are talking about going to try and get support from Affilistore.com for the original product, then you are up a gum tree.

With free products, which is what ASE is, you can’t expect people to be working fulltime on it, and I am afraid that the developer is tied up in paying his living meantime. I have been assured that there will be a final bug fix version for those that wish to remain on ASE rather than move to the successor product.

Incidentally, I did consider acquiring the Affilistore domain .. I even offered to host the original forum if Affilistore was happy for me to do so and could provide the sql dump. However, at this stage there is a gulf between what I am prepared to pay versus what appears to be expected and I will not let sentimentality for Affilistore allow me to overspend.

We do what we can to provide support, but when it is unfunded here, then it is limited what we can do.
